TOMTOM is a DUMDUM
Ok Ok Ok….I really didn’t throw the TOMTOM under the Bus or even a semi but I’d about had it last night. I was trying to find a house and low and behold (SURPISE, SURPRISE, SURPRISE) when I typed in the address….it might as well said….
“Guess what dude…your the looser that bought me and now I am going to make sure i don’t meet or resemble any expectation that you thought that you might have with me!!”
That’s right it didn’t know the address. The road that I was looking for is quite short so just as long as I can get to the road then I will be fine. Well, Well, Well. I soon realized, just like Colbie, that things weren’t going as I expected and that I need to do something about it. Because the fact of the matter is that TOMTOM or rather DUMDUM was having me driving in circles and So I had to call a friend again to give me directions. So now this is going to get really ridiculous. I am heading to the Myrtle Beach this weekend and I might just try to use this GPS contraption again or maybe just have it as my new swimming partner.

I was visiting a blog on cars and came across an entry about the 2008 Aston Martin DBS! at caradvice.com.au and I certainly made a comment about it. You must remember the car that sold me on its safety when Bond attempted to save the girl in Casino Royal don’t you? Well, I certain do remember. Sometimes there is a fine line between wants and needs. Either way, I would certainly want it. I don’t think that I would want to drive the Martin everyday….i think that would be a little silly to do so at the cost of a nice home. Sorry I should have said house….although you may be able to buy a house you can only make a home.
Practically, i’m not sure that this car would help me anymore than just boosting my ego a few notches. If a client of mine saw me drive up to the wedding in the Martin I would think that they may contemplate that they may have just paid for the car more than the photos. So in this case it might not be a good marketing tool. Although clients want those with whom they do business to be successful I don’t think that clients want to subsidize a particular lifestyle rather than the quality of the service they are investing.
So to think about it….I would want the Martin a few times out of the month. Better yet….maybe I could have a few friends who trust me enough to drive it around a few times a month and pay me to do so. Kinda like car sitting!

You know…I used to love my TOM TOM… BUT NOT ANYMORE. If you didn’t know already…I am a wedding photographer and as such I have to travel to different parts of the city and until I am rich enough to not do so, I have to drive myself. Well, I was getting ready to leave a few hours early to a wedding last friday make sure that I got to the church on time to set up shop and get down to the business that I like to do. Well, Well, Well….I eagerly tap, tap, tapitied the address into my exbeloved GPS TOMTOM and it informed me that that address doesn’t exist. DID NOT EXIST!!!???? Please keep in mind that this particular church has been on the topographical books for lets say……a good 20 years! You see TOMTOM politely asked me for the state, city, street name, and the street number of this particular well mature address. To my surprise, it told me otherwise. Well if it doesn’t like your street number it will give you some random number that may or may not exist on the map!!

TOMTOM meet one of my friends!!
So I couldn’t find the church. So what did i have to do? I had to call a friend of mine to give me directions to the church. I just wanted to chunk that GPS out the window under the nearest semi! Well I got to the church on time before photos….at least 40mins before. Remember, I always prepare for the worst and make sure that I leave a good solid 1-2 hours before I normally would. So if you’re going to get a GPS…i suggest a Garmin.

About two months ago I started focusing the StoryBoard blog on things I was interested in and what was going on with me rather than showing all the photographs that I had taken the previous week. I assumed that if you wanted to see my photos then you would have gone to www.peterdoylephotography.com to see them. Well, there has been a hugh jump in traffic and a hugh number of you who stop by multiple times throughout the month. So I thought that I would take a few mins. to say a word of thanks to YOU ALL for stopping by and visiting throughout the month. So that you can see what I am talking about I have included 2 screen shots from Google Analytics from the past two months.
In June there were only 293 times that people looked at the blog from various computers and 178 absolute unique people visit my blog. This just means that 178 different people stopped by with about 115 of them stoppeing by at least once. However, In the month of July you can see that the blog was visited 622 times with 465 absolute unique visitors. Which means that at least 157 decided to come back and show some love at least once. By the way…if you have a site and want to monitor the traffic then head on over to Google Analytics. It’s very, very easy to get the code and set it up on your pages you want monitored.
Again thank you very much to those who came by to visit or at least to those who went to as many different computers throughout the month and stopped by.

July 1 - 31
This was from the month of June. A little low.

I know, I know, I know…Cheesecake Day was a few days ago so why bring it up now….it’s old news right? Well…of course it’s NOT OLD NEWS!!!! Everyday might as well be cheesecake day! As long as I can remember I have always loved it. Especially Peanut Butter….yum, yum,YUM!!! In fact just about anything with peanut butter tastes better. Maybe except for peanut butter and fish. Anyway, while i was at Barnes and Noble chomping on some of their Cheesecake Factory Cheese Cake I wondered what would be a good drink to go with it. So I thought I would contact the professionals at www.cheesecake.com (Dang it, I should have bought that URL for $10.00 years ago when I had the chance. Oh well…millions gone.) Here is the email and their response. By the Way….let me say that they responsded THE NEXT DAY. “Surely” I thought to myself, “they are not going to respond to me very quickly unless I buy something.” But sure enough, as I said, I got a response the very next day.
Dear Mr. Doyle,
There are so many options when pairing beverages with cheesecakes. I suggest red wines, as white wines generally do not hold up to the creaminess of the cheesecake. Something big like a zinfandel goes great with just about any flavor cheesecake. Coffee drinks also go well with cheesecake. Coffee with Bailey’s compliments any of our caramel or chocolate flavor cheesecakes.
Good luck with your pairings. I’m sure you will have fun!
Cheers~
Amy
Cheesecake.com
The site is easy to navigate through and it really gives you all the information on purchasing and choosing your cheesecake (specialty or your traditional flavors). I say forget the traditional…you can have that anytime. Get the specialty and brag to your friends that you have a most discerning palate) The only need that I thought the site should have is a resource on the history of the cheesecake and/or interesting facts on cheesecake. This would make the site a little more interactive as well as seen as an expert on the food. Although, I will have to say that just having www.cheesecake.com makes them seem as such.
My two slices of cheesecake (not suggested at the sametime)

What I had to drank…apparently not suggested by cheesecake.com
